Animals in the Philippines need your help NOW!

Dear Friend,

Last month, kind donors to PETA’s Global Compassion Fund helped our team supply hundreds of life-changing spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats in deeply impoverished neighborhoods in Metro Manila. Today, many of those animals—and others like them—are facing a devastating new threat.

As Typhoon Odette slammed into the Philippines this weekend, PETA’s office in Manila began its work to help storm victims whom news coverage rarely shows: the scores of homeless animals who remained on the streets enduring the same torrential downpours, violent winds, and sudden flooding that have already displaced thousands.

For these animals, every single day is already a struggle for survival, and this dangerous storm has made their attempts to find food and a dry place to sleep even more desperate.

From our experience as one of the first animal protection organizations to respond to the Taal volcano eruption and previous typhoons like Haiyan and Hagupit, we know the deadly impact that disasters can have on the lives of homeless and neglected animals. The lessons learned from these tragedies have helped us shape important disaster policy changes for animals in the Philippines and, just as importantly, provided our staff members with the expert skills that they need to deliver critical relief to animals during times of crisis.

Our rescue teams are often the only hope these animals have, and your gift to the Global Compassion Fund today will provide us with an immediate boost to reach every animal we can.

Thank you for being there when animals need us most.

Kind regards,

Jason Baker
