Tell Michelle Donelan: don't pressure Unis to host Holocaust deniers

The Government are publishing 'free speech' legislation. Universities Minister Michelle Donelan told BBC Radio 4 that the law would protect Holocaust deniers from being deplatformed - and could even provide Holocaust deniers with financial compensation if their events can't go ahead.

Free speech is a fundamental right but there is a huge difference between saying people have the right to deny the Holocaust and pressuring universities to platform holocaust deniers. The Holocaust is a historical fact. Those who deny that are seeking to spread hate. The idea that a Holocaust denier could receive compensation under this new bill if they were refused a platform at a university shows how ludicrous government thinking is on this issue.

Tell the government: Don't protect Holocaust deniers.
