I’d like to wish a warm thank-you to the prize donors, participants, and sponsors who made Birds Canada’s 2020 Great Canadian Birdathon a success. All of your hard work and generosity will benefit Canada’s wild birds in many, many ways, and is deeply appreciated.
It’s also my pleasure to congratulate our 2020 Great Canadian Birdathon prize winners! Roger Simms of Parksville, BC is the lucky winner of this year’s Grand Prize. Roger has won an Eagle-Eye Tours adventure, and will choose a guided birding tour that he will enjoy just as soon as we are safe to travel again! For more than 30 years Roger has been a very active and dedicated supporter of Birds Canada, participating in not only the Great Canadian Birdathon, but in a very long list of Birds Canada conservation projects. Roger certainly deserves this prize! Congratulations and thank you, Roger!

Kowa donated a very nice prize – their Kowa 55mm Prominar Special Edition Spotting Scope will be much appreciated by Birdathoner Donna Stanyer of Granisle, BC.
Vortex Canada also generously donated a whole list of wonderful prizes:
a spotting scope and tripod that will go to Ted Murphy-Kelly of Whitehorse, YT; a Raptor 8.5×42 binocular for young Birdathoner Josh Hansen of Lac La Biche, AB; and a pair of Diamondback binoculars each for Birdathoners Julia Marshall of Mitchell, ON and Ayicia Nabigon of Heron Bay, ON.
Armstrong Bird Food donated a one-year supply of bird seed. This bountiful prize was scooped up by Vincent Crowston of Brandon, MB.
