Ask Matt Hancock to support new mums, dads, and their babies

Having a baby brings new pressures and challenges. On top of this, the pandemic has added more stress and worry for new families.

Even before the pandemic, reductions in funding and staffing for the Healthy Child Programme meant many new parents were missing out on this vital service. The government are proposing changes to Public Health England which could impact this service even more.

We have a chance to put this right make sure all families get the support they deserve. Health visits are essential for supporting new parents with their babies. Health visitors identify parents who are struggling with anything from their mental health to how to feed or bond with their newborn – and get them the support they need when they need it.

We’re writing to Matt Hancock asking him to ensure new parents will still have access to support. Will you join us and Fight for a Fair Start?
