Help change the law on animal cruelty

In England and Wales, the Animal Welfare (Sentencing) Bill was introduced as a Private Member’s Bill in February 2020. We need to make sure MPs see it as an urgent priority as it makes its way through Parliament, and get this important change passed.

The Scottish Government have announced a new Bill that will amend the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006 to increase the maximum sentences for animal cruelty from one to five-years. This is expected to pass later in 2020, and we welcome this development.

By taking a couple of minutes to fill in your details below, you will be asking your MP to back this legislation and showing your support for making five-year sentences for animal cruelty law across the UK.
