Help change the law on animal cruelty

In England and Wales, the Animal Welfare (Sentencing) Bill was introduced in Parliament, but it ran out of time before Parliament was dissolved in November 2019, so it will need to start again in this new session of Parliament. It was included in the Queen’s Speech, showing the Government is still pursuing this important issue, but we need to make sure MPs treat it as a priority.

The Scottish Government has announced a new Bill that will amend the Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006 to increase the maximum sentences for animal cruelty from one to five-years.

By taking a couple of minutes to fill in your details below, you will be asking your MP or MSP to back this draft legislation and make five year sentences for animal cruelty law across the UK.
