Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Louisiana, with Premiere Sponsor Golden Nugget Lake Charles and Title Sponsors Tito's Handmade Vodka and Magnolia Property, is excited to announce their 3rd annual Lundi Gras Day Party to be held on February 24th, 2020 from 5:00pm - 9:00pm at Blue Martini inside the Golden Nugget Lake Charles. Lundi Gras parties have become a staple in the New Orleans Mardi Gras scene, and this event aims to bring the party right here to Southwest Louisiana.
Live music will be provided by Three Thirty Seven. There will be a signature cocktail provided by Title Sponsor, Tito's Handmade Vodka. The event will be cocktail attire and Mardi Gras masks are required! Local artist Heather Boston will be painting “live” during the event, creating a piece of art to auction off while you watch. Tickets are $75 and includes two tickets for our Tito’s signature cocktail, food, and entertainment. AGES 21 AND OVER.
BBBS-SWLA will also be partnering with Lyft to offer a “safe ride” option for Lundi Gras Day Party attendees. Discount code provided with ticket purchase. Only one per rider, the discount offers $10 off a safe ride either to or from the LGDP. The discount is good for any ride to Sulphur/Moss Bluff/Iowa/LC area to/from GNLC. Tickets are limited!
Big Brothers Big Sisters offers a wide variety of mentoring programs and many opportunities to volunteer. Big Brothers Big Sisters encourages members of the community to give of themselves and make a difference in the life of a young person.

Lake Charles Programs: Community Based Program, High School Mentoring (School-Based), Lunch Buddy Program (School-Based), Reading Readiness (School-Based), and Summer Mentoring Program (Site-Based)
BBBS accepts volunteers 18 years of age or older, with their own transportation and proof of insurance. BBBS ask the volunteer to make a one year commitment to see his/her Little Brother/Little Sister two to four hours, twice a month and to call every other week to check on them. Volunteer orientation is mandatory for each volunteer and scheduled during the interview process. Big Brothers Big Sisters accepts clients between five and twelve years of age. Exceptions are made depending on each individual's situation and needs. Parent Orientation and Child Safety training are mandatory and scheduled during the interview process.
