Thanks for supporting our campaign to end farmed animal cages!
Farmed animals need to walk, run, fly, peck, stretch, flap their wings and roll in the dust. Yet millions of farmed animals spend their lives confined in tiny cages, unable to carry out these natural behaviours.
Millions of laying hens in Scotland will spend their entire lives confined in cages while breeding sows will spend several weeks in a crate each time they give birth. These inhumane cages restrict the animals' movement and as a result they face a magnitude of health and welfare problems.
The use of cages for farmed animals is cruel, unnecessary and outdated. That’s why we are calling on the Scottish Government to ban these cruel cages.
