Ask the Prime Minister to ensure the UK Government meets its international climate obligations.

Our brothers and sisters are being pushed into poverty by extreme weather caused by climate change.

Pope Francis has urged us to “Hear both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor”, reminding us of our responsibility to one another and God’s creation. He teaches that we all must play our part in the fight for climate justice and that our political leaders are in a unique position to make a difference.

The UK has benefited from a model of development that is damaging our climate and hurting the poorest people in the world. It is an injustice that those who suffer most because of climate change are those who have done the least to cause it.

Please help us by calling on the UK Government to ensure the UK meets its international obligations under the Paris Climate Agreement. To do this and stop catastrophic temperature rises above 1.5°C, the Government must set a target of net zero greenhouse gas emissions for the UK before 2050. This will ensure that we will no longer be contributing to climate change by 2050.
