"42% of assistance dog owners were turned away by a taxi or minicab in the last year because of their dog. We call on the UK Government to make disability equality training a requirement for all taxi and minicab drivers to help them understand the rights and needs of disabled people."
A note for campaigners in Scotland and Northern Ireland
The Scottish Government is taking steps towards taxi and minicab accessibility training as part of Scotland’s Accessible Travel Framework. In Northern Ireland taxi and minicab drivers are already required to undertake disability training. If you live in these countries, you can still sign the petition or email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
