Canada’s woodland caribou need your help. Their habitat is disappearing, leaving them increasingly vulnerable to predators, climate change, and hunger.
Scientists have listed these caribou as nationally threatened, and in some regions of the country critically endangered with only a handful of animals left in the herd. With careful planning and an eye for sustainable solutions, we can ensure that caribou have the space they need to survive.
Canada’s Boreal forest contains some of the last large expanses of caribou habitat – old growth forests and peatlands. We have the opportunity and responsibility to maintain these for the caribou and for future generations.
Take Action: Join CPAWS and 150,000+ caribou supporters in asking Canada’s governments to do their part in protecting the caribou’s forest home. Healthy caribou means healthy forests and communities. Protecting caribou habitat benefits all Canadians by protecting the water that flows to our cities, improving the air we breathe, and helping to reduce the impacts of climate change.
Join us and we’ll keep you updated on the latest caribou news, and let you know how you can help protect caribou in your province or territory.
