Humanitarian crisis in Myanmar/Burma. Send more aid urgently.

Join the campaign.

One year on from the military coup, Myanmar/Burma is facing a humanitarian emergency compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic and the military’s deliberate blocking of aid.

It is estimated that 14.4 million people – including 5 million children – will need humanitarian assistance this year.

While everyone in Myanmar is suffering, Christians seem to have been targeted with particular intensity and Muslims, especially Rohingyas, continue to face grinding persecution.

The UK government has sanctioned the Myanmar military and is funding humanitarian programmes. However, the severity of the crisis demands a more intensified response. Write to the Foreign Secretary now and call on the UK government to increase its humanitarian assistance in Myanmar.
