Take a stand for religious freedom in Nepal
Things are changing fast in Nepal. A new Constitution is being drafted, marking the last stage in the transition from a Hindu monarchy to a secular republic. But, CSW is concerned that the proposals for the Constitution would not properly protect religious liberty, which is vital in a secular state.
One of the proposals for the Constitution specifically states that “no person shall be entitled…to convert a person from one religion to another.” This wording could put peaceful evangelism at risk of prosecution, or Christian schools, hospitals and charities at risk of being accused of converting the people they are helping and therefore facing legal reprisals.
This is your chance to help ensure freedom of religion in the new Constitution! Take just a few minutes today to write to your MEP, urging the European Union to emphasise the importance of Nepal’s new Constitution protecting religious liberty. You will then be taken straight through to another letter which will allow you to email your MP on the same issue asking them to write to the Nepali Ambassador to the UK.
