IFAW strives to ensure the welfare of the world's whales, keeping individual animals safe from harm while protecting whale species and their habitats. For more than 20 years, IFAW has worked around the world to protect whales, but we can't do it alone.
You can help increase protection for North Atlantic right whales. Write to the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans and request that:

- Continued action is taken to protect North Atlantic right whales from the threats of entanglements in fishing gear and collisions with vessels;
- More funding is provided for research and education on critically endangered North Atlantic right whales;
- Canada participates in a bilateral conservation agreement with the United States to protect right whales throughout their North Atlantic range.
