Put the whale hunt on ice

The Australian Government showed great leadership in the fight against whaling during the International Whaling Commission (IWC) meeting in Chile last June. However, the IWC did nothing to stop the Government of Japan’s ‘scientific’ whaling program, and once again this November their whaling fleet will head to the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary to kill almost 1000 whales, including endangered species.

The IWC has just begun a critical process of considering its future. The Government of Japan must be told to demonstrate commitment to the IWC reform process and show good faith by suspending their controversial ‘scientific’ whaling program.

Help save 1000 whales this year - ask your local MP to speak up for whales by telling the Australian Government to fulfill its promises and do everything in its power to stop Japan’s ‘scientific’ whaling program.
