Tell your MP that new nukes are a vote loser

We are in the deepest recession since WW2, with deep cuts in public services expected, yet our politicians are still planning to waste £97 billion on building new nuclear weapons.

Polls show that the public don’t want new nukes - and neither do the military. Senior military figures have already warned against spending large amounts on new weapons systems that are “irrelevant” to our strategic military needs.

With national finances in disarray and money genuinely too tight to mention, we have probably our best ever chance to challenge the false logic that demands that we waste a fortune on weapons of mass destruction that we don't need and can ill-afford.

Write to your MP and remind them that today climate change and energy security are the real threats to our security. A responsible government should focus on tackling them, not wasting tens of billions on cold war weapons.
