No New Coal! Tell Ed Miliband to accept Lord Turner's recommendations
Lord Turner's Committee on Climate Change recommended this week that new coal plants are not built in the UK unless they can capture all of their emissions by the early 2020s. If accepted by the government, the proposal would kill controversial plans by German energy giant Eon to build a new coal-fired power station at Kingsnorth in Kent.
Energy and climate change minister Ed Miliband is the man charged with implementing Turner's recommendations. Please write to him and and ask him to implement them as soon as possible - and to rule out building any new climate-wrecking coal-fired power stations.
Please take a couple of minutes to personalise the letter below and let Ed Miliband know that if he's serious about tackling climate change, he needs to act immediately on Lord Turner's proposals.
