Success! Ferrero supports the palm oil moratorium

We've had another brilliant success in our campaign to protect Indonesia's rainforests and peatlands: Ferrero has agreed to support the palm oil moratorium.

The Italian company Ferrero (they of Ferrero Rocher and Nutella fame) wasn’t willing to support the Unilever-led moratorium on forest destruction in South East Asia. After supporters of Greenpeace Italy sent thousands of letters to the company's CEOs, we launched a cyber action asking our supporters to do the same.

Ferrero has now agreed to support the moratorium on converting forest and peatland into oil palm plantations. The palm oil industry - and its ever expanding plantations - is one of the biggest threats to the rainforests of South East Asia.

With both Unilever and Ferrero onside, we’re now on our way to building a coalition of businesses determined to reform the palm oil industry. Over the coming months, we'll be lobbying more companies to support the moratorium we need.

So thank you for helping us achieve this brilliant result and to keep up-to-date with all our campaigns, subscribe to our email newsletter.
