By using the local media to raise the issue of inequality, you can make a huge contribution to our work. Letters published in local newspapers can:

reach a wide and diverse audience,
expand on a news item, or give a different point of view,
demonstrate to local decision-makers that there is public concern about these issues.

The most successful letters are those which respond to a recent article in the same newspaper, or those which relate to issues of local concern. So keeping an eye out for relevant stories and responding quickly is one of the most effective ways that you can help raise awareness.
