When people with a learning disability experience hate crime, it can have serious and even tragic consequences. It can leave them scared, afraid to leave the home in case they experience violence. This shuts them out of the community, which is poorer as a result.
Many police services are doing good work to stop disability hate crime and their response is getting better. More can be done and Mencap is asking your Police Service to show support for people with a learning disability who are victims of hate crime by adopting the 'Stand by me' promises.
Please fill in your details below to add your service's support to the campaign. We will send you a press release to use so that you can show publically your support, and your organisation's name will appear on Mencap's website.
