Please ask your MP to Break the Bag Habit

Beach litter

In 2011 we used eight billion carrier bags. That equals 254 bags handed out per second. This number is increasing each year.

This is a tremendous waste of valuable resources that often results in litter, and can be lethal to wildlife on land and at sea.

The Campaign to Protect Rural England, Keep Britain Tidy, the Marine Conservation Society and Surfers Against Sewage have launched the Break the Bag Habit campaign.

Join us in calling for the introduction of a charge for single-use carrier bags in England.

Write to your MP now and help us reduce litter and save our precious resources.
