Don't Short Change Maryland

Gov. Hogan is withholding $68 million in school funding.

Larry Hogan is two for two—in both of his two years as governor, he’s withheld funding that the General Assembly tried sending to our schools. Last year it was $68 million that didn’t reach our classrooms. He announced yesterday that this year it will be another $25 million.

What makes this even more disappointing is that there is a $360 million projected budget surplus and $1 billion in the state’s rainy day fund. This cut is unnecessary, uncalled for, and totally unacceptable.

What could that funding have helped address in your school? Tell Gov. Hogan. Send your personal message to urge him to release this critical funding by filling out this form and then customizing the message on the next page with your own words. Thank you for supporting Maryland’s public schools and students!
