Take action for water and sanitation

This September, the world’s governments will agree to a new global initiative called the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These SDGs will lay out great ambitions for reducing poverty, promoting well-being, advancing education, creating gender equality, improving global partnerships, and building a more just and environmentally stable world. The SDGs will, of course, also include safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).

Sign up below to send this message and help to ensure that the US government prioritizes WASH services in the final SDGs:

"I want to live in a world where every single person has clean water to drink, a safe toilet, and the knowledge and supplies to have good hygiene (WASH). These are foundational to health, poverty reduction, and even education, and I pledge to stand with the 2.5 billion people who still live without a toilet and do my part to help them get access.

As a US citizen, I urge my government to join me, by committing to making water, sanitation and hygiene services a global priority through the Sustainable Development Goals. The President signed the Water for the World Act into law; the next step in this historic commitment to WASH is for the US government to support a dedicated Sustainable Development Goal on water and sanitation, and to ensure that WASH targets are woven throughout the SDGs wherever they can help to accomplish a goal. The US government must show leadership to ensure that everyone, everywhere has taps and toilets by 2030, for a healthier and more sustainable world."
