In the UK an important group of terminally ill adults are currently suffering against their wishes. We need you to write to your local newspaper and tell the people in your area that the choice of assisted dying for dying adults who are mentally competent will not only reduce unnecessary suffering but will allow greater control and protection at the end of life.
With a safeguarded change in the law to allow the choice of assisted dying for terminally ill, mentally competent adults, vulnerable people will be better protected. Strict legal safeguards will prevent people from needing to take matters into their own hands by travelling abroad to die or asking loved ones or doctors for help to die at home. The media can obscure or mislead readers about the case for assisted dying. By writing to your local newspaper – using your own words – you can set the record straight and help increase awareness in your community and with decision makers, who are not always being given fair access to the facts about improving choice at the end of life.
Writing to your local newspaper will raise awareness of the campaign for Dignity in Dying, and encourage more people to get involved.
To get started please fill in the form below. You will be able to review your letter(s) before sending them. Newspapers will never publish your details without your consent.
