Save the Emperor Way cycle path in Fishbourne!Fishbourne.PNG

The Fishbourne Roman Palace, near Chichester, West Sussex, has proposed removing the cycle path - which forms part of National Cycle Network Route 2 - from its land.

They also indicate that they have plans for developing the land, possibly for housing or car parking.

If they extend visitor parking, they say they would need to cross the cycle path and they suggest that this is why it needs to be closed.

The closure of this cycle and footpath would make local trips by bike much less pleasant as the busy A259 is no real alternative.

There is also a risk that the fields which separate the two communities of Fishbourne and Chichester will be developed, eroding the 'green gap' between these two communities.

By filling out the form below, we will provide a standard letter which you can modify and send off to the Chairman of the Trustees of the Roman Palace, Richard Akhurst, asking them to reconsider. The Trustees will be meeting next week, so this is a key moment to influence them.

Once you've filled out the form and pressed 'send' below, we will provide a draft letter which you can edit, or send straight away.
