Take taxpayers' money out of Tarsands

RBS have been talking up their support for a low carbon economy, at the same time as pumping money into companies involved in the most environmentally destructive activities on earth.

We want the bank to know that its no good putting a little money into renewables if billions are being directed towards companies involved in the Canadian tar sands, deep water oil drilling in the Arctic and dirty coal.

RBS is the UK bank most heavily involved in financing the fossil fuel industry. Their activities directly undermine the transition to a clean economy.

As a bailed out bank, RBS is 83% publicly owned, so it’s OUR money being invested at the expense of people and the planet.
