Give rhinos the protections they need
Right now, rhino horn consumers in Asia are forcing rhinos on the path to extinction. Only 20,000 white rhinos remain, and with poachers brutally killing two to three every day, these animals will be gone in only a few years.
In a timely move, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service has listed the southern white rhinoceros as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). This brings all five species of rhino under federal protection and closes a legal loophole that had been exploited by criminals who are intent on selling rhino horns in Asia. But the listing is not yet final.
Let the Service know that you strongly support listing the southern white rhinoceros as threatened under the ESA!
